DATO ' SERI HAJI MUSTAPA KAMAL B MAULUT was born in Kampung Selabak, Teluk Intan, Perak. He continued his secondary school in School Tuanku Abdul Rahman (STAR), Ipoh, Perak. His tertiary study starts with a degree majoring in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Technology Malaysia (UTM) and then Master of Science in Condition Monitoring from Nottingham Trent University, England, United Kingdom. He is currently studying for a Ph.D. degree in Entrepreneurship Faculty of Management and Economics at UPSI with a thesis entitled : Factors Contributing to Success to Excellent Credit Cooperatives in Malaysia.
He is now the Chairman of Koperasi UKHWAH, a co-operative head quartered in Medan Tuanku, Kuala Lumpur since 15 years ago. The main activity of Koperasi Ukhwah is Cooperative Credit Financing and Strategic Property Investments. The cooperative is capable to provide microfinance to government employees up to RM250 ,000.00, while in the last 10 years it has accumulated up to RM400 million of strategic property investments in strategic locations from Ipoh City, Kuala Lumpur, Shah Alam and Johor Bahru to the city of London, United Kingdom. The newest destination which is in its final phase of feasibility study is to have property investments in Melbourne, Australia as an effort of the cooperative movement to confront with the real estate industry globally . Koperasi Ukhwah Malaysia Berhad is a recipient of the Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin Excellent Cup for the Real Estate Industry Bumiputera Cluster organized DPMM and GABEM in 2011. One of its successes is able to maintain the dividend rate of 10 % with the latest addition of 20% annual stock bonuses. It is also the first cooperative to offer real estate investment to its members in accordance with Islamic rulesMusyarakah wa Mutanakisah.
Besides being the Chairman and Members of the Board of several cooperatives, he also shed his sweat and expertise to the community through a number of NGOs activities such as President of the Association of Entrepreneurs, Consultant and Islamic Director of Malaysia (URUSKOP), the President of the Yayasan Ukhwah Malaysia, the Principal of Ma'ahad Tahfiz Al-Quran at-Tijarah and the Second Secretary General of NGOs Persatuan Seruan Dakwah Wilayah Persekutuan & Selangor (Jam’iyah). His previous positions was the Vice-President (NYDP) of Angkatan Kebangsaan Koperasi Malaysia (ANGKASA) , the Honorary Secretary of the Kuala Lumpur Malay Chamber of Commerce (DPMMKL) and the Member of the Executive Council of Malaysian Malay Chamber of Commerce (DPMM Pusat) . His achievements in cooperative movement and entrepreneurship has indirectly contributed in the well-being of the Malaysian
