For example: Client A might have genting shares 2055 units.
Why happen to be Odd lots?
Reason: Genting might offer them a rights issues. Client A have 2000 units of genting previously but he subscribes excess units of rights issues which is 1000 units in excess.
However, registar just given client A 55 units only.As a result, client A will have 2055 units of genting shares now.
Should I sell if I was holding odd lots??
You can sell if you can return after deducting brokerage fees,stamping fees and clearing fees.
Please do calculate the trading charges wisely before you sell your odd lots next time!!
